My 5 Favourite Up-Do's

Hey guys, so I have been trying out lots of new hairstyles, mostly up-do's as it has been very very windy so there's no point in me making lots of effort on my hair! All of my hairstyles are really easy to do and great for many occasions, such as:

School
Work
Dates
Night out with your friends
Activities (Bike riding, etc)
Driving (I hate leaving my hair down when I'm driving as it just gets in the way!)
Weddings
Party

The Messy Bow Bun

How to:
This is a really easy, cute hairstyle that I love. All I do is put my hair in a bun (put the bobble half way which leaves a bun shape with hair sticking down below it). To get all of it into a bun shape, I just pull at the bun which then leaves no hair strands below the bun. I then take a small section of my hair from the middle of the bun, pull it back and over the bun. I then clip this section which gives the 'Bow' effect. (I hope to god that made sense..)
Time it took: 4 minutes

The Sectioned Ponytail

How to:
I pulled all of my hair to one side, leaving some of my fringe down. I put one bobble right at the top and used 3 other bobbles to section my hair. I then pulled at each section just to give it some more effect. I then curled my front section with GHD straighteners. If you have ombre hair like me, I would invest in different coloured bobbles going from dark to light.
Time it took: 5 minutes

The Wrap Arounds

How to:
I put my hair in a bobble and then wrapped a small section of my hair around the bobble. I then added this retro Bandana and just double knotted it on top of my head. I think this look is quite retro and laid-back.

Time it took: 7 minutes (couldn't get the Bandana right haha)

The Pretty Beehive

How to:
Firstly, I sectioned my hair. For the top half, I backcombed it slightly which gave my hair the 'beehive effect. There are many special back-combing brushes but I just used a standard hair brush. I then got the other section and wrapped my hair around itself so it was in a bun shape. I then put it in a bobble and used some hairspray to make sure it stayed in place. I then curled the front sections of my hair but then brushed them through for the more wavy look. To finish it off, I used this gorgeous pearl headband to give it that 'pretty' look.

Time it took - 8 minutes

Plaits On Plaits

 How to:
I sectioned my hair into 3. The first 2 sections, I plaited separately. I then plaited the bottom section and then linked them together with lots of clips (as needed! hehe). I then took some hair and curled it at the front.
Time it took: 10 minutes

And there you have it, my 5 favourite up-do hairstyles! I really hope you have enjoyed this blog post. I also hope you love these hairstyles as much as me. The 90s/Childhood Tag!

So I have seen a few Vloggers do this Tag and well, I haven't plucked up the courage to start my own Youtube Channel yet, so I thought I would do it on my blog! I had an amazing childhood of what I remember so I thought I'd share bits and bobs with you through doing a Childhood Tag/Q&A! And there's also lots and lots of pictures of me from when I was younger.. Uh oh..

The 90's / Childhood Tag

Favourite Disney film? -
Mine has to be Cinderella! I was obsessed with this film when I was little. I used to go round to my Nana and Grandads house and the first thing I would say is 'Cinderelly! Cinderelly!' There was never one day where I didn't watch it. My mum bought it me a couple of Christmases ago, I watched it but didn't like it as much as I did when I was little!

Favourite Music Artist? -
It was all about bands during my childhood.. Steps, Busted, Atomic Kitten, Girls Aloud, Black Eyed Peas, Pussycat dolls, but my all time favourite was definitely S Club 7! And yes, I did cry when they split up and oh yeah, I did get a tad emotional when they had their reunion on Children In Need! Haha. I also was obsessed with Avril Lavinge, Natasha Bedingfeild, Quen Stefani and Nelly Furtado. I was never quite 'hip hop' when I was younger^ haha. Also, it seems I didn't like many boy singers? I was such a good girl... (My mum would probably say different).

Favourite Candy/Sweeties? -
I wasn't that into sweets as a child and I still haven't changed! But if I did have sweets/chocolate, it would have been Freddo's, Cola Bottles, Flying Saucers and that chewing gum that looked like a measuring tape but pink! I think you know the one.. I also used to get those white candy sticks which were in like a matchstick box and if I was with my friends, I used to pretend that they were cigarettes.. What was I doing.. Fortunately, I have not touched a cigarette since!

Favourite Game? -
When I was around 7/8, I loved the game Ker-Plunk! It was the most tense game! When I was a little older, I had a game called Perfect Match which was where you had to match boys and girls to see if they were a pair, thinking of it now, I'm not sure why I liked it so much.. Haha. I also had a game which was a mini casino thing where you had to match 3 pictures to get all the money. Everyone loved it when I bought it into school for show and tell.

Favourite McDonald's Happy Meal Toy? -
This is the hardest question as I don't remember many! But I do remember getting Beanie Babies which was those little cute animal toys!

Favourite Book? -
I was actually quite a bookworm when I was younger, shocking I know! I really enjoyed the Louise Renninson books. There's a series of them and it links to the film 'Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging'. I also really liked the Goosebumps books although I couldn't read them before my bed time as I, erm, got a tad scared.. Just thought of another series of books but can't remember what they were called... It was all to do with fairies, let me know if you know what they're called!

Favourite Clothing Store? -
I think every girl will say this but mine was Tammy Girl which was placed in British Home Stores (BHS). I used to feel so great when I brought something from there, I felt so grown up haha. I used to go into JD.. Yes I know, you wouldn't of thought it! But yep, I was one of those girls who wore a Mckenzie jacket around school trying to make myself into a 'hard gal' when actually, I was the most innocent thing in there.

Favourite Nick Jnr show? -
I didn't actually have Nick Jnr when I was younger so I only had CITV and CBBC. But I was obsessed with every single programme.. I used to love Byker Grove, Grange Hill, Mona Lisa (the vampire), The Worst Witch, The Demon Headmaster, The Queens Nose and obviously Chuckle Vision!! I could go on forever.. Childhood TV was insanely good haha.

What did you watch when you got home from school? -
All I would do when I got home is watch TV! My favourites would have to be Tracy Beaker, Basil Brush, My Parents Are Aliens and Finger Tips! (This makes me want to watch them, all over again!!)

Here are lots of pictures from when I was younger.. ENJOY

I have loved reminiscing back on my childhood and it just brings back so many memories. If you ever wanted to cheer up or just wanted to reminisce, I'd recommend looking at old pictures if you have any like I have or secretly watch some of your childhood programmes! Haha. Thank you so much for reading and I hope you've had a good laugh at how I used to look (sad face).. If you've enjoyed this, please give it a cheeky share. You can follow me on my Twitter/Instagram (@1bethsheil). Lots of love,
